Job Description:

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the non-profit industry. This role is integral to the functioning of our client's team, focusing on processing and reviewing financial data, maintaining financial records, and managing various financial analysis tasks.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct a review of staff journal entries, including payroll
  • Oversee weekly accounts payable batch entries in Sage Intacct
  • Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and enter monthly close journal entries
  • Conduct financial statement preparation, involving research of monthly expense variances to budget and prior period
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly board reports, dashboards, and scorecards, and confirm their tie out to financial statements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the non-profit sector
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Journal Entries, General Ledger, and Month End Close
  • Proven ability to prepare Financial Statements accurately and in a timely manner
  • Proficient in the use of Sage Intacct accounting software
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • a CPA or similar certification is preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with various departments and stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing a team, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
