Job Description:

Exciting opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator in Norfolk, Virginia. As a Benefits Coordinator, you will facilitate the operation of a comprehensive employee Health and Welfare benefits program to accommodate employee needs and synchronize with business goals. You will also support the management of wellness programs and employee retirement savings plans.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the management of benefits including enrollment, employee deductions, insurance billing reconciliation, and incentive programs
  • Deliver benefit presentations to employees
  • Support annual projects such as Total Compensation Statements, census reporting, renewals, budget projections
  • Generate benefits-related reports from HRIS and benefit vendors’ systems
  • Handle weekly HSA reimbursements and Tuition Reimbursement applications and approvals
  • Resolve benefits-related administration queries or issues for employees, liaising with carriers to provide resolution and escalating issues when necessary
  • Work with third-party administrators, the human resources team, and payroll to manage all disability, family, and medical leaves
  • Communicate with management regarding employee’s leave approval and leave management instructions
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements
  • Assist with annual health and welfare audits and for compiling and reporting annual required filings with the IRS and DOL
  • Provide employee and management training related to benefit policies and laws
  • Maintain benefits and HIPPA records including enrollments, applications, and other documents required for all benefit plans

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Transport industry
  • Proficient in Benefits Functions and Claim Administration
  • Experience with Cobra Administration is essential
  • Familiarity with FMLA and FLSA regulations and compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination
  • Knowledge and understanding of Competitive Benefits Packages
  • Ability to manage Employee Benefit Plans effectively
  • Experience with Medical Benefits is a must
  • Familiarity with Affordable Care Act (ACA) Reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting
