The Big Data Scientist will be responsible for conducting analysis of financial monitoring system within Anti Money Laundering program in Citi. The Incumbent will work in a team of statisticians with global team across the globe and execute complex statistical analysis to discover and classify patterns of money flows. This is an opportunity to work in a Big Data environment, have a chance to create and implement a new project in Citi, and practice your English on everyday basis. Job Responsibility:
Conduct data-driven analyses and reports
apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods
prepare statistical and non-statistical data exploration within Anti Money Laundering (AML) program in Citi
Apply statistical methods to organize, analyze, and interpret data related to AML monitoring scenarios and thresholds
Provide data pulls and reports directly from Oracle database and big data environment
Write SQL queries in large database environment
Detect data anomalies and conduct deep dives to identify source of those anomalies
Recommend data driven solutions to address those anomalies
Use visualization techniques to display data and the results of analysis in clear presentations that can be understood by non-technical readers
Provide technical support to the team by implementing automation tools on Oracle Database and Python, R or SAS
Design technical solutions supporting complex data reporting and analytical tasks
Generate graphical data reports, including data cross-tables, scatter plots and statistical measures
Requirements:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical science/mathematics/statistics/quantitative methods (degree in economics/banking may be considered if strong analytical skills are demonstrated)
3-5 years’ experience in analyzing large datasets and in data mining
Programming and statistical/data analytical experience using SQL and Python/R/SAS
Initiative, creativity and attention to details
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and detail oriented
Comfortable interfacing with business clients
