Job Description:

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in Downers Grove, Illinois for a Collections Specialist. In this role, you will be tasked with the responsibility of managing customer accounts, addressing inquiries, and maintaining detailed records within a detail-oriented setting.

Job Responsibility:

Efficiently handle B2B collections procedures
Adapt swiftly to changes in work environment and job duties
Display strong analytical skills in resolving customer queries
Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer credit applications
Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as required
Exhibit strong communication skills in all facets of the job
Maintain a high level of detail orientation in all dealings with customers

Requirements:

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, higher education is a plus
Demonstrated experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role
Proficiency in B2B collections is required
Comprehensive knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g., skip tracing)
Familiarity with relevant laws regarding debt collection (e.g., FDCPA)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases
Comfortable working with targets and tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good negotiation and persuasion skills particularly when dealing with customers
High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
Attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Must pass a background and credit check
