Job Description:

This Edinburgh based insurance broker with a reputation for delivering bespoke insurance programmes to clients, both large and small is looking for a commercial insurance broker to join their team of technical insurance broking professionals.

Job Responsibility:

Keeping the customer at the centre of the commercial insurance broking process
Building and maintaining strong relationships
Understanding the insurance needs of customers and putting into effect the right level of protection to meet those needs
Growing new and existing client and insurer relationships
Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice
Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance
Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines
Handling new and existing commercial insurance risks
Dealing with quotations, renewals, MTA’s, policy issue, etc
Assist in driving a high performing culture
Understanding a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges
Managing senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market

Requirements:

Experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace
Knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk
Ability to identify appropriate placing markets
Experience of pricing and designing programmes
Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification
A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues
Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Excellent technical skills
Good presentation abilities
