Loom is looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Product Designer to own and drive forward the Growth experience of Loom. Growth Product Designers work on initiatives that increase the amount of creators, viewers, and teams on Loom – empowering millions of people to communicate faster and more effectively at work. This person will be a strong craft and people-focused leader, who embodies the values we seek in our design leaders to lead with empathy and resilience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly assess viability, and design the fine-grained details of interactions
  • Drive high fidelity designs with great attention to detail all the way through to delivery
  • Conduct usability testing to inform your design decisions
  • Lead and manage 2 product designers, empowering ICs to execute the roadmap with a high-quality bar, leading through design inspiration in order to deliver Loom’s experience principles of simple and fast
  • With Product & Engineering leadership, define and own user-centered strategy and design execution of growth projects
  • Proactively identify new problems and opportunities for the team that are rooted in user problems, working intimately with user research and data to propose paths forward
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to help shape our growth strategy and to bring a user-centric approach to implementing for different customer segments both in product and in marketing surfaces
  • For roadmap delivery, partner with engineering and product to have a working understanding of technical systems in order to creatively scope prioritization & trade-offs
  • Work alongside the broader Design leadership team to craft our teams’ culture, processes, and tools and ensure we’re building towards a connected vision and product experience.

Requirements:

  • You have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Product Design and a minimum of 2-3 years experience of managing Product Designers
  • You have expertise and a background in growth design roles for organizations that have shipped software to users, partnering closely with Product and Engineering
  • You have an outstanding portfolio, with presentable case studies showcasing a foundation in typography, interaction and visual design, product sense, and idea generation
  • You have experience in people development and up-leveling design craft – you have what it takes to grow and empower an incredible design team
  • You have demonstrable experience working with data, conducting and measuring product design experiments, and a passion for setting and achieving OKRs and metrics that materially impact the business
  • You are a coach to others and give and ask for honest and critical feedback - you inspire, not merely direct
  • You have experience leading a diverse team in a rapid growth environment. Huge plus if you’ve worked with distant teammates and understand the communication patterns of working with highly distributed teams
  • You're an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and you're comfortable managing high-stakes communications
