Job Description:

A well-established, community-focused shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur looking for a Leasing Manager to refresh its retail experience. The role involves rental income maximization, tenant sourcing, leasing management, tenant relationship building, and strategic execution.

Job Responsibility:

  • Research and report to management on competitive leasing trends and specialty leasing within the geographical and catchment areas
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve leasing targets and occupancy goals for the mall
  • Manage and lead all leasing programs and activities, including planning, development, leasing management, and budget forecasting, to maximize rental income and increase profitability by attracting desirable tenants (long-term & short-term leasing, specialty tenants, kiosks, seasonal tenants, etc.)
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, stakeholders, agents, business partners, and other key contacts
  • Source new and suitable tenants that align with the tenant mix plan and think creatively about introducing unique brands
  • Oversee the negotiation and execution of lease agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Liaise with lawyers to draft standard tenancy agreements, including landlord and tenant provisions, house rules, and fit-out guidelines

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Estate Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in mall and/or commercial leasing, with a proven track record of successfully securing tenants
  • Established connections with non-mainstream retail brands is a plus
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
  • experience in tenant remixing is advantageous
  • Driven, ambitious, and assertive character
  • Strong communication skills with leadership qualities
