Job Description:

As a graduate pharmacist intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist as part of the pharmacy team to ensure a safe and effective Retail Pharmacy work environment. Responsibilities include patient safety, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management excluding final prescription verification.

Job Responsibility:

  • Keeping customers and patients healthy through patient care program management
  • Supporting the Pharmacy manager in developing Pharmacy Support Staff
  • Identifying critical business opportunities and implementing solutions to improve pharmacy performance
  • Adapting to change in dynamic healthcare settings
  • Collaborating with others to deliver better outcomes
  • Facilitating a team culture that promotes care, energy, and enthusiasm
  • Applying knowledge to improve healthy outcomes
  • Leading the pharmacy team to achieve specified goals.

Requirements:

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • 0-3 years prior relevant work experience
  • Must possess or be in process of obtaining a valid Pharmacist intern and/or technician licensure as required by state BOP
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Complete all required training within state guidelines and required timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, scan, and bag items
  • Finger Dexterity
  • Ability to stoop, reach overhead, extend hand(s) and arm(s), and adjust machines to exact positions
  • Close visual acuity
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to orally communicate information and instructions to colleagues and customers
  • Obtain required pharmacist licensure within required timeframe per state guidelines.

Nice to have:

  • Immunization eligibility
  • 3-5 years prior relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Grad interns should be striving to provide patient immunizations as this is an essential pharmacist function.
