Job Description:

At CVS Health, Staff Pharmacists are responsible for cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by demonstrating genuine, authentic care for patients. Responsibilities include overseeing daily pharmacy operations, supporting patient health through accurate dispensing and immunizations, and adhering to compliance with regulations. Additionally, Staff Pharmacists foster positive patient experiences and coach pharmacy team members to deliver compassionate care.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap
Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
Contribute to positive patient experiences
Deliver immunizations
Manage pharmacy inventory effectively
Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Expand knowledge to better support patients
Provide holistic care at every step of the patient care journey
Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.

Requirements:

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
Notice and understand patients’ reactions, and respond appropriately
Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
Ability to use math to solve a problem
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and frequently lift up to 10 lbs.

Nice to have:

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require.
