Job Description:

As a Specialist study skills tutor, you will provide learning support and academic guidance, create tailored individual learning plans to help students develop independence, and build strategies for organization, research, and comprehension. This role involves supporting students funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) and adhering to professional qualification frameworks.

Job Responsibility:

Develop independence
build on strengths and learning strategies
create strategies around organization and time management
create action plans to stay on track with studies
build on research skills
distinguish appropriate sources and how to use references
build on comprehension skills within reading and writing

Requirements:

Membership with British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
Dyslexia Guild
The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Adherence to qualification framework set out by the DfE

Nice to have:

Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
excellent interpersonal and communication skills
ability to identify ways to help students build on learning strengths
punctuality and reliability
good organizational skills
ability to manage a caseload of students
