As a Weichenwärter:in, you are responsible for the safe and timely execution of shunting operations on a mechanical interlocking in the Mannheim marshalling yard. You set the complete route for the journey of a train (points, route, signals) and thus ensure a safe departure. You communicate with colleagues on neighboring interlockings, with locomotive drivers and with control centers. In addition, you are responsible for issuing, submitting and transmitting operational messages and timetable information. Monitoring and controlling the rail tracks and blocking the tracks in the event of disruptions complete your range of tasks.

• very good knowledge and experience in mechanical interlocking technology or willingness to acquire it
• high sense of responsibility, reliability, expert and knowledgeable action in stressful situations as well as punctuality
• unrestricted operational fitness
• willingness to work in shift work (night, weekend and public holiday work)
