As a switchman, you are responsible for the safe and timely execution of train and shunting movements on the mechanical interlocking in Winden. You set up the complete route for the journey of a train (switches, route, signals) and thus ensure a safe departure. You communicate with your colleagues on neighboring interlockings, with locomotive drivers and with control centers. In addition, you are responsible for issuing, submitting and transmitting operational messages and timetable information. The control and monitoring of the tracks and the blocking of the tracks in the event of disruptions complete your field of activity.

• very good knowledge and experience in mechanical interlocking technology or willingness to acquire it
• high sense of responsibility, reliability, expert and knowledgeable action in stressful situations as well as punctuality
• unrestricted operational fitness for duty as a switchman
• willingness to work in shift work (night, weekend and holiday work)
• pronounced ability to cooperate and teamwork
