Functieomschrijving:

We are looking for a personal assistant for a young boy with both mental and physical disabilities. The assistant will support him in daily activities, ensure his safety and well-being, and provide care when family members are unavailable. The role involves caregiving tasks, companionship, and assistance with personal care routines.

Functieverantwoordelijkheden:

Ensure the boy can play calmly and undisturbed while keeping an eye on him
Occasionally take short walks in the neighborhood, ensuring the boy's safety
Assist with the boy's personal care, including diaper changes
Wash and apply lotion to the boy's skin
Ensure the boy receives his feeding tube nutrition (training provided if needed)
Guide the boy through daily routines, like bedtime and ensuring he sleeps comfortably
Provide companionship during activities such as watching TV, playing, reading stories, or listening to music
Stay calm and supportive when the boy experiences frustration

Vereisten:

Experience with children, preferably with disabilities, or a strong affinity with care
Ability to understand and interpret non-verbal communication
Patient, caring, responsible and calm attitude
Physically capable of assisting with activities such as walking or guiding a child in a wheelchair
Flexible and willing to work on an on-call basis
Comfortable with caregiving tasks like washing, skin care, dressing, and changing diapers
