Job Responsibility:

  • Identify new hotel business (business transient, group, catering) to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals
  • Understand the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and know how to sell against them
  • Close the best opportunities for our hotel based on market conditions and needs
  • Gain understanding of our hotel’s target customer and service expectations
  • serve the guest by understanding their needs, issues and concerns
  • Respond to incoming group/catering opportunities for our hotel
  • (not only group & catering also transient business as well)
  • Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • Be attentive and focused on guests’ needs, while assisting them and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their event
  • Partners with Event Management and/or Operations to ensure a customer experience that exceeds guests expectations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • Attend pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs, obtain feedback on quality of product (e.g., rooms, meeting facilities and equipment, food and beverage), service levels and overall satisfaction
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings
  • Develop relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Romanian (verbal, listening, writing)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in proactive sales
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, especially in the sales segment
  • Great negotiation skills and creative selling abilities
  • Computer skills and ability to use standard software applications
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, ability to drive results and ensure high standards in operations
  • Strong problem-solving and effective decision-making skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., employees, guests
  • Effective influence skills and good negotiation skills
