Robert Half is actively searching for an ambitious accountant for a contract-to-hire role with a client in Mt. Vernon. The position will begin with a minimum of 25 hours per week, transitioning to full-time hours once hired. Job Responsibility:

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
Prepare journal entries and manage debts & credits in accordance with accounting principles
Assist with light AP/AR activities to ensure smooth financial operations
Prepare for audits by organizing and verifying all necessary documents
Upload documents
maintain trial balances
and prepare financial statements
Participate in annual closings to accurately record financial activities for the year

Requirements:

Proven experience with bank reconciliations
journal entries
and general ledger activities
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
including AP/AR
Strong skills in balancing and managing financial documents and statements
Experience with audit preparation and annual close activities
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
Potential to take on full-time hours when required
