Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with Nonprofit experience to join our mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial activities, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. Job Responsibility:

Maintain and manage the general ledger for accuracy and compliance
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and accruals
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, ensuring they align with GAAP and nonprofit industry standards
Prepare and record journal entries for month-end and year-end closings
Manage restricted and unrestricted funds according to donor requirements
Assist in audit preparation and liaise with auditors as needed
Support grant reporting and compliance procedures
Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Minimum of [insert years] years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization
Strong understanding of GAAP, specifically as it pertains to nonprofit entities
Proficient in accounting software (experience with [specific programs, such as QuickBooks or Blackbaud, if applicable] is a plus)
