Job Description:

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a meticulous Accounting Assistant in Chicago, Illinois. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be involved in a variety of accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, assisting with closing activities, and reconciling accounts. You will be a part of a team in the financial industry, providing crucial support to our accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Accurately record financial transactions and ensure completion of the posting process, including Cash Received and Accounts Payable
Aid in the preparation and entry of payroll
Participate in closing activities and ensure they are carried out efficiently
Perform reconciliation of accounts and subledgers regularly
Handle other assigned projects related to accounting
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, CaseWare, and Concur for various tasks
Apply understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles in daily tasks
Ensure a high level of accuracy in data entry and manage sensitive, confidential information
Use spreadsheet and financial reports for various accounting and bookkeeping tasks
Collaborate with the team as well as work independently to solve problems

Requirements:

Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Experience with ADP - Financial Services
Knowledge and usage of CaseWare
Familiarity with Concur
Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
Ability to perform Accounting Functions
Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
Expertise in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
Skills in Auditing
Experience in Bank Reconciliations
