Job Description:

A growing company in San Marcos, CA, is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their finance team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with a keen eye for accuracy who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative and team-driven environment. The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business.

Job Responsibility:

Input and maintain accurate records of transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Reconcile bank statements and assist with monthly and year-end close processes
Process invoices, verify payment terms, and follow up on outstanding payments as necessary
Perform basic data entry to ensure the general ledger is updated and accurate
Prepare reports and summaries for review by the accounting team
Support the finance department with administrative tasks, such as filing, recordkeeping, and correspondence
Assist with ad hoc projects and financial documentation as required

Requirements:

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere
Enthusiasm for learning and growing within a finance and accounting role
