Job Description:

Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Consultant to join our client's team on a 2-year remote contract. This role will be critical in supporting the accounting and finance team during a complex system implementation, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of key accounting functions. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the successful adoption of the new system.

Job Responsibility:

Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends and variances
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Provide support during the system implementation, including data validation, testing, and troubleshooting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting
Prepare and maintain documentation related to accounting processes and procedures
Support internal and external audits
Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
Maintain and manage general ledger accounts

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a large company environment
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
Proven experience with month-end and year-end close processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong preference for experience with Lawson ERP
