Job Description:

The Accounting Lead will be responsible for leading all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial standards, managing grants and funds, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

Lead all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, grant accounting, and financial reporting
Prepare and review accurate, timely, and transparent monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP for nonprofits
Manage the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and work with leadership to monitor financial performance
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and nonprofit-specific financial standards, including maintaining tax-exempt status and filing Form 990
Oversee external audits, preparing schedules and supporting documents and implementing recommendations as needed
Manage the financial aspects of restricted and unrestricted grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements
Implement and maintain systems for tracking donor-restricted funds, ensuring accurate allocation and usage
Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with program and fundraising teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making
Partner with external stakeholders such as funders, auditors, and board members to maintain strong financial relationships
Evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and accuracy
Ensure proper integration of nonprofit financial systems with broader organizational operations

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting
at least 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting including management
