We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Vallejo, California. In this role, you will be tasked with the management and coordination of accounting functions and systems. This includes ensuring the accuracy of accounts, handling financial services, and resolving any related inquiries. Job Responsibility:
Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide insights into financial performance
Maintain the company's chart of accounts and ensure accurate transaction coding
Collaborate with the owner to develop, monitor, and update budgets and cash flow forecasts
Provide financial forecasts to support strategic business decision-making
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and filing requirements
Prepare for and coordinate external audits, including providing necessary documentation and reports
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect the financial integrity of the company
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting
Supervise and mentor one accounting clerk, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks and fostering professional development
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure deadlines are met
Manage accounting software and perform system updates, if needed
Work closely with management to ensure effective use of financial systems for decision-making
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by the owner
Maintain vendor and client relationships related to financial transactions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation a plus
5+ years of construction accounting experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of accounting and tax laws
Proficiency in construction accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
