Job Description:

Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to lead in a dynamic and fast-growing environment? Our client, a reputable banking organization in the Twin Cities, is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee key functions within their accounting department.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and ensure the timely preparation of financial management reports, including internal/external financial statements and audits
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
Lead and supervise general ledger (GL) reconciliation activities
Coordinate financial reporting associated with mergers/acquisitions and assist with system changes or conversions
Prepare quarterly regulatory reports and act as the main point of contact for regulatory examinations
Monitor compliance with evolving regulations and ensure adherence to internal controls
Provide leadership, training, and development of accounting staff to cultivate a motivated, service-oriented team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
CPA preferred (or CPA eligible)
Minimum 6+ years of accounting experience
Banking experience
Familiarity with preparing Call Reports
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation, along with strategic forecasting
Proficiency with interest rate risk, asset liability management, and internal controls
Adaptability with emerging technologies and evolving financial reporting requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the banking industry
Proficiency in performing month-end and year-end close processes
Demonstrated skills in financial reporting and analysis
Experience in handling regulatory filings and reports
Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements in the banking sector
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but not mandatory
Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality

Nice to have:

Banking experience
Familiarity with preparing Call Reports
Detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but not mandatory
