Job Description:

Our client, a leader in their industry, is hiring an Accounting Manager to join their team in Burnaby. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Controller and supervise a team of 8 accountants. This is a temporary contract for one year to support the finance department during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be able to work on-site 2 days a week.

Job Responsibility:

Manage a team of 8 members
Prepare month-end inventory and intercompany account reconciliations (Loans, AR, AP)
Reconcile related party transactions
Compile and review monthly financial packages for Canadian and US entities
Generate and review financial statements for Corporate Controller and coordinate approvals with General Managers
Address financial statement queries from General Managers
Prepare consolidated financial statements
Prepare weekly/monthly reports and ad hoc reports as needed by Operations or Executives
Review revenue accruals, reconciliations, and tax filings (GST/PST)
Provide ad hoc reports/information as requested by the Operational Controller, Director of Finance, or Executives
Assist with special projects as assigned

Requirements:

CPA designation
5 to 10 years of relevant accounting experience
Experience leading a team
Multi-company exposure
Autonomous and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
