Job Description:

This is a hybrid position for an Accounts Payable Specialist based in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves managing payable processes, resolving accounting discrepancies, and submitting invoices for processing. The position requires at least 1 day of work on site in Birmingham.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the payable processes for assigned market carriers, adhering to AP Policies & Procedures
Act as the primary contact for accounting discrepancies
Ensure timely and accurate payment
Conduct reconciliation of all accounts in line with internal control guidelines
Submit all Accounts Payable invoices for processing in a timely and efficient manner
Manage recurring and payable processes for designated agencies
Offer training to agency personnel on correct accounts procedures
Handle month-end close
Submit all vendor payables to Accounts Payable for processing

Requirements:

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and operations
Experience with Batch Processing and Batching in an accounting environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and financial analysis
Demonstrated ability in Bank Account Reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy
Experience with Month End Close processes to maintain timely and accurate financial reporting
