Job Description:

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Android Developer based in Jacksonville, Florida. The role is in the tech industry, focusing on the development and deployment of user-friendly Android applications. As an Android Developer, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining applications, ensuring their compatibility with backend services, and optimizing their performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, code, test, and deploy Android applications, ensuring they align with user requirements and design specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs
  • Create user-friendly interfaces with a focus on usability and simplicity
  • Optimize application performance, finding and fixing bottlenecks
  • Maintain the quality of applications through troubleshooting and resolving issues found in testing
  • Assist QA team in the development of test scripts and provide technical assistance when needed
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
  • Create technical specifications based on gathered requirements
  • Use Java 16, Postgres, Vaadin, Spring Boot, and consumer APIs to build web applications
  • Work with the Ionic framework to create Progressive Web Applications

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of Java programming language
  • Proficiency in Android Native development
  • Familiarity with Ionic and Ionic Framework
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teammates to define, design, and ship new features
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
