Job Description:

The Applications Support Analyst is responsible for maintaining, identifying, and defining enhancements to existing applications and their operating environments. The role requires knowledge of apps support procedures, basic technical expertise, and the ability to assess business needs and recommend solutions.

Job Responsibility:

Maintain, identify, and define enhancements to existing applications and their operating environments
Analyze system logic and make recommendations and implement enhancements or fixes
Formulate and define scope and objectives for changes
Document requirements
Partner with appropriate development and production support areas
Participate in validation and testing activities
Assess the applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
Exchange ideas and information concisely and logically
Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and driving compliance with laws, rules, and regulations

Requirements:

Hands-on Oracle/Sybase database experience
Hands-on UNIX experience
Basic knowledge of middleware technologies (e.g., WebSphere, Tomcat)
Basic knowledge or interest in app support procedures and concepts (ITIL for example)
Hands-on ETL system experience (e.g., Abinitio ...)
3-5 years of experience or interest in app support procedures, concepts, and other technical areas
Participation in some process improvements
Ability to work under pressure
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge in banking applications and server infrastructure
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Great teammate
