Job Description:

The Applications Development Technology Lead at Citi involves leading applications systems analysis and programming activities, building scalable and maintainable applications in the Capital Markets Technology industry, and providing cross-functional leadership for global Technology Teams.

Job Responsibility:

Architect, Design, and implement robust Python-based solutions
Lead global Technology Teams across different time zones
Drive Object-Oriented Programming principles and mentor team members
Partner with management teams for system enhancements and process improvements
Provide in-depth expertise in programming and ensure design aligns with architecture
Develop standards for coding, testing, and implementation
Build knowledge integration across business areas to accomplish goals
Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers
Manage Level 3 production support
Influence and negotiate with senior technical leaders regarding software engineering strategies.

Requirements:

6 - 10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
Extensive experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Proven engineering experience building robust, scalable and maintainable applications in the Capital Markets Technology industry
Ideally 12-15+ years of overall application development experience
5+ years in a technical leadership role, with experience leading global technology teams
Build, deploy, and test application components during the implementation phase
Work proactively and independently under project requirements
Expertise with Python, preferably in library, framework, and API development
Proficiency in SQL Databases, MongoDB, Oracle, Big Data preferred
Hands-on experience with Shell Scripting and automation tools like Autosys
CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, uDeploy)
system reliability monitoring tools.

Nice to have:

Experience in monitoring tools and strategies for system reliability
Experience in coding standards, testing, debugging, and implementation
Master’s degree (preferred).
