We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the sales and marketing efforts for multiple properties in the BWI Airport Area. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of Marriott brand experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and developing strategic business relationships.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets across multiple properties
Identify new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with corporate, government, group, and transient clients
Leverage Marriott’s sales and marketing tools, including Marriott Global Sales Organization (GSO), Marriott Bonvoy, and brand marketing programs, to drive revenue
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and revenue performance to adjust strategies as needed
Oversee digital marketing, social media, and promotional campaigns to enhance brand visibility and increase direct bookings
Ensure all marketing efforts align with Marriott brand standards and leverage Marriott’s marketing resources for maximum impact
Manage online reputation, guest reviews, and public relations efforts to strengthen brand positioning
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team to drive business success
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centric sales
Work closely with General Managers, Revenue Management, and Operations Teams to align sales and marketing strategies with property goals
Represent the properties at Marriott networking events, industry conferences, trade shows, and corporate meetings
Build and maintain strong relationships with Marriott Global Sales, travel agencies, corporate accounts, and local businesses
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of Marriott sales & marketing experience, with multi-property or leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Marriott’s sales systems, brand marketing initiatives, and revenue management tools
Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth
Experience managing corporate, government, group, and leisure sales segments
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
Proficiency in Marriott CI/TY, One Yield, and other sales & marketing platforms
