Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the sales and marketing efforts for multiple properties in the BWI Airport Area. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of Marriott brand experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and developing strategic business relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets across multiple properties
  • Identify new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with corporate, government, group, and transient clients
  • Leverage Marriott’s sales and marketing tools, including Marriott Global Sales Organization (GSO), Marriott Bonvoy, and brand marketing programs, to drive revenue
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and revenue performance to adjust strategies as needed
  • Oversee digital marketing, social media, and promotional campaigns to enhance brand visibility and increase direct bookings
  • Ensure all marketing efforts align with Marriott brand standards and leverage Marriott’s marketing resources for maximum impact
  • Manage online reputation, guest reviews, and public relations efforts to strengthen brand positioning
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team to drive business success
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centric sales
  • Work closely with General Managers, Revenue Management, and Operations Teams to align sales and marketing strategies with property goals
  • Represent the properties at Marriott networking events, industry conferences, trade shows, and corporate meetings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Marriott Global Sales, travel agencies, corporate accounts, and local businesses

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of Marriott sales & marketing experience, with multi-property or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Marriott’s sales systems, brand marketing initiatives, and revenue management tools
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth
  • Experience managing corporate, government, group, and leisure sales segments
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Marriott CI/TY, One Yield, and other sales & marketing platforms
  • Ability to travel within the market as needed
