The Area Director of Sales will lead the sales efforts at our Courtyard by Marriott Chocolate Ave and Hampton Inn & Suites Near the Park properties in the vibrant Hershey area! As the leader of our sales team, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to shape the growth of two exceptional properties in a dynamic market.
Job Responsibility:
Take charge of both hotels’ sales departments, overseeing daily operations and ensuring the team is aligned with company objectives
Lead your team to ensure compliance with Shaner Hotels' policies and keep them up to date on current operational procedures and standards
Understand and build relationships with key clients, including corporations, associations, sports teams, agencies, and more, to nurture current business and pursue new opportunities
Analyze the local market and identify untapped business segments to drive growth and expand our customer base
Design and implement special packages or promotions to boost occupancy during off-peak times, using both traditional and digital advertising strategies to engage potential customers
Be the face of the hotel at trade shows, civic events, chamber meetings, and local organizations, increasing visibility and generating fresh leads
Maintain clear and effective communication with the General Manager, department heads, and hotel staff to ensure smooth execution of sales initiatives
Lead the charge in the development, solicitation, and retention of accounts, meeting or exceeding sales targets and ensuring strong client relationships
Oversee the entire sales process to meet hotel standards, ensuring efficiency and maximizing revenue potential
Prepare insightful sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for management, providing a clear picture of sales trends and strategies
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality industry
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, management, and co-workers
High school diploma or equivalent required
a college degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Familiarity with the local economy, market conditions, and competitive landscape
Working knowledge of hotel operations and sales practices
Ability to interpret and understand various documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence
Effective public speaking skills, with the ability to present to groups of customers or employees
Familiarity with Sales and Marketing tools and techniques
Knowledge of organizing and interpreting B.E.O.'s (Banquet Event Orders), safety rules, and setup requirements
Awareness of local attractions and activities that can enhance client offerings
Nice to have:
