Job Description:

The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and performing preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment. They will calibrate controls, manage inventory, and ensure safety protocols are followed. The role also involves assisting in hiring, training, and motivating employees, as well as responding to guest repair requests and maintaining a professional appearance. The position requires physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment
  • Calibrate controls, gauges, meters
  • Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves
  • Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies
  • Maintain inventory and purchase orders log
  • Inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers
  • Operate power lift
  • Complete life safety checklist
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems
  • Assist in development of disaster response protocols
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
  • Follow company and safety policies
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations
  • Identify and recommend ways to increase organizational efficiency
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Requirements:

  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
