Job Description:

The Assistant Chief Engineer at Le Meridien Bangkok is responsible for installing, maintaining, and performing preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment. The role involves calibrating controls, managing inventory, inspecting tools and equipment, and responding to guest repair requests. The position also includes assisting in hiring, training, and motivating employees, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and performing physical tasks as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment
  • Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters
  • Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves
  • Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies
  • Maintain inventory and purchase orders log
  • Inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers
  • Operate power lift
  • Complete life safety checklist
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems
  • Assist in development of disaster response protocols
  • Respond to guest repair requests
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
  • Follow company and safety policies
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • Assist individuals with disabilities
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Support team to reach common goals
  • Listen and respond to concerns of other employees
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Identify and recommend ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings

  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Move up and down stairs and service ramps
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Requirements:

  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
  • At least 2 years of related work experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
