Job Description:

The individual in this role will be instrumental in supporting our financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to efficient financial management. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and various departments to handle daily accounting tasks and provide strategic financial insights.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the creation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Be actively involved in the generation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for stakeholders
Leverage financial data to pinpoint trends, discrepancies, and areas for enhancement
Take charge of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations
Ensure the prompt and accurate conclusion of month-end and year-end closing procedures
Reconcile accounts, address discrepancies, and maintain corresponding documentation
Aid the Controller in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Facilitate internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis
Develop and supervise internal controls to protect company assets
Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
Collaborate with various departments to monitor spending and ensure budget adherence
Guide and supervise entry level accounting staff
Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting and implement best practices
Support the integration of new software or tools to enhance financial reporting and data analysis
Handle ad-hoc projects as directed by the Controller or CFO

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years, 2 years in supervisory
Proven experience leading and improving month end close and audit process
ERP of some kind, not just QuickBooks
Budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis and explanations
Strong US GAAP knowledge
Outgoing and good leadership/mentoring skills
PE experience
POC
NetSuite(Big preference)
Power BI
