Job Description:

Robert Half Madison has partnered with an organization on the west side of Madison in search of an Assistant Controller to join their already stellar team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will help to support the performance of the finance team and work closely with operations to streamline processes and identify improvement opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

Support monthly report preparation, manage daily financial activities and ensure compliance with all relevant government reporting and tax filing requirements
Establish and document business processes and accounting policies to ensure robust internal controls are maintained
Assist in the creation and publication of financial statements, budgets and other company reports
Oversee elements of the general ledger, including managing payroll and conducting monthly reconciliations
Participate in annual reviews, auditing of benefit plans, and filing tax returns
Collaborate with the operations team to resolve inventory discrepancies and devise procedures to mitigate future discrepancies

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
MBA or CPA highly preferred
7+ years strong accounting experience preferred
Experience working within public accounting
Strong Excel skills
Desire to take on supervisory responsibility over time
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
