Job Description:

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, maintaining financial records and performing customer service functions. The role will also involve regular interaction with other operational departments within the organization.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the training and supervision of all accounting department personnel
Review and approve monthly financials prepared by general ledger accountants
Supervise, manage, and coach a group of general ledger accountants
Schedule external audits and assist property accountants with follow-ups
Serve as the main owner accounting contact to assure all client accounting needs are being met
Utilize knowledge and experience of all accounting functionality within Yardi Voyager 7.0, Entrata, and RealPage
Support and communicate with operational departments within the organization to meet owner accounting cut off and report deadlines
Enforce community rules and regulations consistently and fairly
Maintain a detail-oriented image and conduct when communicating with employees, residents, prospective residents, clients, vendors, and guests
Assist with special projects as directed by the supervisor
Meet all training requirements for the position

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Real Estate & Property industry
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
Knowledge of Concur
Experience with Crystal Reports
Understanding of DCAA regulations and procedures
Capability to handle all Accounting Functions effectively
Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in Auditing techniques and principles
Capability to efficiently handle Billing Functions
