Job Description:

Robert Half has partnered with a client in the banking industry to hire their next Assistant Controller. Candidates at a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager level looking to promote to the next level will also be considered. We are looking for someone coming with accounting experience, month-end close, and financial statement preparation in the banking industry. Will also consider banking, credit unions, insurance, mortgage, or any sort of financial services industry experience. Experience needed includes GAAP and financial statement preparation, as well as someone willing to be responsible for soup to nuts accounting with this small accounting department. This role is in the office on a daily basis, with a great quality of life including a standard work week with next to no overtime!!

Job Responsibility:

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Responsible for all aspects of month-end close and partnering with accounting team to accomplish all departmental tasks

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
5+ years experience in an accounting role
Banking Industry experience strongly preferred (or related industry)
Financial Statement Preparation Experience
Experience with GAAP and financial statement preparation
Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation in the banking industry

Nice to have:

Banking, credit unions, insurance, mortgage, or any sort of financial services industry experience
