Job Description:

The Assistant Head Teacher for Key Stage 4 will play a pivotal role in leading academic excellence, ensuring high standards of teaching, curriculum design, and student outcomes while fostering innovation and professional growth at an international school in Doha, Qatar.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the pastoral care system in Key Stage 4
lead the implementation of a positive behaviour policy
manage and support the team of Year Leaders and Form Tutors
develop and implement action plans for Key Stage 4
liaise with external partners
manage resources and budgets allocated to Key Stage 4
organise and oversee the smooth running of Key Stage 4 activities

Requirements:

PGCE, BEd, or equivalent teaching qualification
minimum of 5 years secondary teaching experience
demonstrated success in a leadership role
strong knowledge of curriculum and assessment frameworks
proficiency in data analysis to support decision-making and improvement plans
excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community
effective organisational skills for managing resources and meeting deadlines

Nice to have:

Master's degree in Education or a related field
advanced leadership training or qualifications such as NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership)
collaborative and supportive leadership style
committed to fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
adaptable, culturally aware, and sensitive to the needs of an international school community
