Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Back-End PHP Laravel Developer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a developer with strong expertise in PHP and Laravel, who thrives in building scalable, high-performing back-end solutions. The position is fully remote, but candidates must be able to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure back-end solutions using PHP and Laravel
Design and optimize database structures, queries, and integrations (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless front-end and third-party system interactions
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the back-end stack to ensure system reliability
Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
Follow best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure high standards of performance and security
Write and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in back-end development with PHP and Laravel
Strong knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and database optimization
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices is a plus
Proficiency in version control tools like Git/GitHub
Understanding of application security best practices
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while collaborating with a distributed team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have:

Experience with microservices architecture
Knowledge of queueing systems (Redis, RabbitMQ)
Exposure to front-end technologies like Vue.js or React is a plus but not required
