Job Description:

The Banquet Cook I is responsible for preparing and presenting food according to quality standards, assisting with banquet operations, and ensuring adherence to safety and company policies. The role involves working closely with the Chef and supporting the team to deliver exceptional service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Determine food presentation using BEO
  • Create decorative food displays
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items
  • Assist with Banquet plate-ups
  • Communicate assistance needs to the Chef
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish
  • Monitor food quality and quantity
  • Prepare plate and platter presentations for banquets
  • Set up and operate action stations for banquet or buffet
  • Carve buffet meats as requested by guests
  • Ensure adequate stock of all items
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
  • Prepare cold foods
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees
  • Follow company and safety policies
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Protect company assets
  • Support team to reach common goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Reach overhead and below the knees
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Requirements:

  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
  • At least 3 years of related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • No license or certification required
