Job Description:

Directs and motivates team while assisting in providing high-quality service. Monitors financial and administrative responsibilities and ensures compliance with policies and standards. Identifies training opportunities and plans strategies to achieve goals.

Job Responsibility:

Projects supply needs for the department
applies knowledge of all laws related to an event
understands the impact of banquet operations on event success
maintains sanitation levels
manages departmental inventories and equipment
uses banquet beverage records to control liquor costs
schedules banquet service staff
assists in developing lasting relationships with groups
sets goals and delegates tasks
conducts monthly department meetings
acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff
leads shifts
interacts with guests
responds to guest problems and complaints
empowers employees
continuously strives to improve service performance
trains staff in safety procedures
observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback
leads discussion with staff
implements corrective action plans.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
2 years experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting-edge cuisine with emphasis on current event trends.
