Job Description:

The Banquet Service-Team Leader at The Westin Yokohama is responsible for preparing and setting up banquet events, serving food and beverages, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service. The role involves communication with guests and kitchen staff, maintaining work areas, and supporting team goals. The ideal candidate is passionate, active, optimistic, and adventurous.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverage
Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts, and cordial carts
Setup meal and reception buffets, taste panels, individual event functions, server head table, and/or VIP tables
Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
Answer questions on menu selections
Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recook orders, and product availability
Follow cycle time guidelines for all meals
Maintain cleanliness of work areas
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables
Ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 2 years of related work experience
No supervisory experience
No license or certification required
