Job Description:

The Banquet Set Up Houseman is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, assisting with setup and breakdown of events, and maintaining high standards of guest service. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving objects, as well as ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

Job Responsibility:

Complete final breakdown of function by cleaning the room and returning equipment to its proper location
Complete closing duties, including storing reusable goods and locking doors
Set up, stock, and maintain work areas
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
Transport dirty linen to correct area to be cleaned
Restock linen shelves with clean linens
Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
Assist other departments when needed
Follow all company and safety policies and procedures
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
Thank guests with genuine appreciation
Support team to reach common goals
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
No related work experience
No supervisory experience
No license or certification required
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 75 pounds with assistance
Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight
Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats
Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language
Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
Ability to follow company and safety policies and procedures
Ability to work evenings and nights
Ability to be on feet for an 8-hour shift
