Job Description:

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to work at a school in Leeds, supporting students in the Pathway provisions. This specialist provision is designed to offer targeted support to students who struggle to access mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges. The school offers a structured and supportive environment for students who struggle to thrive in a mainstream setting, focusing on restoring confidence, improving behaviour, and developing emotional regulation strategies.

Job Responsibility:

Provide 1:1 support for students with behavioural and emotional difficulties
Deliver small group interventions to improve behaviour, social skills, and engagement
Establish positive and trusting relationships with students
De-escalate challenging situations using appropriate strategies
Support students in developing emotional regulation skills
Work closely with the Behaviour Lead and teaching staff to implement support plans
Monitor student behaviour and contribute to individual behaviour plans
Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to take responsibility for their actions
Collaborate with external agencies and support services where required
Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents

Requirements:

Experience working with students with challenging behaviour
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Eligibility to work in the UK
A relevant qualification in education, youth work, psychology, or a related field
