Job Description:

We are opening a position for a Billing Clerk, offering a hybrid role balancing on-site and remote work. Responsibilities include handling customer accounts, ensuring billing accuracy, data integrity checks, creating and revising invoices, resolving issues, and complying with SOX controls. Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, familiar with About Time software, knowledgeable in finance and billing procedures, and possess strong communication and customer service skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
  • Maintain precise records of customer credit
  • Handle customer accounts and take necessary actions
  • Review and scrutinize customer accounts to ensure correct billing
  • Carry out customer data integrity checks and investigate any suspicious items before billing
  • Compile, analyze, and validate customer revenue with assistance from experienced team members
  • Create and revise manual invoices as required
  • Resolve customer issues through research
  • Create and process adjustments in customer billing
  • Handle customer refund requests
  • Collaborate with team members to understand how to resolve customer credit balances
  • Comply with all SOX required controls
  • Perform specific duties related to Landfill and Transfer Station billing when required.

Requirements:

  • Must possess strong customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in training and supervising staff
  • Demonstrated ability to handle invoices and conduct research
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Familiarity with About Time software
  • Understanding of finance and billing procedures
  • Experience in check processing and revenue accounting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to execute tasks efficiently
  • Experience in research analysis
  • Proficient in making adjustments to accounts
  • Must have 10-key skills
  • Experience with customer account management
  • Ability to handle refund requests proficiently
  • General computer skills required
  • Familiarity with validation plans
  • Experience in handling customer invoices
  • Must ensure data integrity
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
