Job Description:

This position works closely with and reports to an Accounting Manager at the Client's site and handles all general bookkeeping and administrative needs of the Finance Department. The Bookkeeper will primarily focus on managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting the team with various day-to-day accounting tasks. Job Responsibility:

  • Manage accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), including processing invoices and payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain an organized general ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings by preparing necessary reports and documentation
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with company financial policies and procedures
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review
  • Assist with budget preparation and cash flow monitoring
  • Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation as needed
  • Maintain an organized filing system for financial records and supporting documents
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the Finance Department

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • 5+ years of experience as a bookkeeper preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and spreadsheets
  • experience with ERP systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in technical and financial backgrounds
  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business, or similar preferred (but not required)
