Job Description:

Cables will be required to run new product developments with the aim of successfully designing and engineering wire and cable products for high technology applications like protocol communication, Ethernet/IP communication, high flexible cables that can contribute to the sales and profit of the organization globally. Familiar with EN 50288-7, IEC 60092-376, IEC 60092-353, IEC 60502-1, AS/NZS 5000.1 international product design standards and UL standards such as UL 62, UL 83, UL 44, UL 444, UL 13, and UL 1277. Proficient in Excel, CAD, SAP, and common office software. Project management skills, speed of development, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional departments are critical for this position.

Job Responsibility:

Design and develop wire and cable products from customer specifications or sales department requests
Work with various factory personnel and cross functional department to ensure the integration of materials, methods and tools necessary to bring new products into mass production
Manage the new product developments from concept to product launch of designing and developing a product and/or product families
Ensure all the engineering steps are followed correctly to produce the product successfully in the factory
Produce prototypes with the plant manufacturing engineer and take care of a full product release, including the data entry for ERP and quality-systems and completing of the technical datasheet
Lead major projects, localization projects, make project plans, communicate with multifunctional teams, and ensure project completion on schedule
Provide daily support to other departments such as quality, manufacturing, costing, process engineering, and materials
Assist the manager to achieve department KPI and TTI targets

Requirements:

Education – 4-15 years of experience in Cable development and process work & Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Telecommunication, or Mechanical
Must be familiar with MS Office Suite, CAD
Must be familiar with Wire and Cable standards such as UL, VDE, IEC, EN, GB, AS/NZS
Results oriented with a process mindset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong ownership
Should be comfortable with communication/engagement with customers and partners
Willing to travel as and when required

Nice to have:

Experience in international standards
