Performs chemical testing to Raw Material, Initials, In-Process Analysis, Water Analysis, and Final Chemical Analysis to finished goods; assuring the company aligns with all internal and external regulations. Maintain laboratory systems update and assure compliance with reference specifications and procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze finished product samples versus specified parameters using specifications and chemical procedures
Analyze purchase raw materials against established procedures assuring compliance with all regulations and specifications
Audit chemical test procedures, retests, additional testing, and SOP's in the laboratory
Request and order all materials required in the laboratory on a timely basis to assure an efficient performance
Initiate and implement changes or new chemical procedures including data gathering
Fill out monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the chemical laboratory as required
Perform specialized tests and chemical tests to raw materials and finished products
Prepare general material and solutions needed for laboratory tests
Collect and enter data for statistical and trend evaluation
Perform calibration and preventive maintenance as required
Maintain inventory of equipment and reagents
Maintain laboratory systems, housekeeping, and document files
Support laboratory administration
Complete all testing, including special project/protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner
Conduct EHS inspections to identify and correct safety hazards and environmental aspects
Investigate deviations and write exception documents
Execute laboratory equipment qualifications and method validations
Coordinate sending samples for testing outside the plant
Actualize SDS
Support in assessment and auditing in the plant
Perform SOP audits, submit SOP changes electronically, and approve changes as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Related Natural Science
Licensed Chemist is preferable
Bilingual English & Spanish
Knowledge of GLP’s/ QSR and Good Documentation Practices
Computer knowledge
Must be related with all principles of chemical testing
Knowledge on GC, UV/ VIS, pH, IR, TOC Analyzer, Polarimeter and others
Knowledge in analysis of Ethylene Oxide Residue
Excellent gravimetric, volumetric, and analytical techniques
Willing to work extra hours, at any shift, weekends and holidays when its required
Travel occasionally
Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
Ability to efficiently present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal and external audits
Ability to work with many projects and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.
