Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with municipal or governmental accounting experience to lead our client’s financial operations. Our client is a mission-driven municipal organization dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact on the community. As the CFO, you will be pivotal in guiding the financial strategy, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, and fostering long-term financial sustainability.

Job Responsibility:

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Manage compliance with all relevant financial regulations, audits, and tax filings
Maintain accurate and transparent financial records
Cultivate relationships with government agencies, vendors, donors, and financial institutions
Supervise and mentor the finance team
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Master’s degree or CPA preferred
7+ years of experience in a senior financial role
Strong background in governmental accounting and municipal finance
In-depth understanding of municipal budgeting, governmental accounting standards, compliance, and financial reporting
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in financial software and strong analytical skills
