Job Description:

We're seeking committed Children's Residential Practitioners to join a Children's Secure Service in the Angus area, supporting 12-18-year-olds with complex needs and challenging behaviours. In this role, you'll provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people can develop essential life skills, grow in confidence, and build resilience for a brighter future.

Job Responsibility:

Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, supporting their emotional and social development
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and young people, adhering to safeguarding procedures
Implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders
Support young people in education, activities, and daily routines
Manage challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and de-escalation approaches
Accurately record and report on young people's progress and incidents

Requirements:

1+ years experience of working within a children's residential setting, youth offending, mental health or secure setting
HNC/SVQ/Youth Work qualification would be highly desirable
Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and behavioural management
Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging situations
