Job Description:

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Safeguarding Team is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to protecting children from harm and providing high-quality support to families facing challenges.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks
Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in vulnerable situations
Engage with families, building rapport, and working collaboratively to promote positive change
Work closely with families, children, and other agencies to provide timely and effective support
Represent the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
Participate in multi-agency meetings and working groups to ensure coordinated support for children and families
Offer information, advice, and support to other professionals on safeguarding issues
Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines
Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of team services to ensure high-quality support for children and families

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent)
Social Care England registration
Updated DBS check
Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a safeguarding or child protection setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands
Commitment to child-centered practice and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families
