A Claims Compliance Analyst ensures that Marriott's claims handling practices adhere to all applicable state regulations governing insurance claims, by monitoring claim activities, analyzing data, identifying potential compliance issues, and working with regional claims offices to ensure proper claim adjudication according to state laws, minimizing risks and protecting the company from regulatory penalties.
Job Responsibility:
Review and analyze calculation of required State assessments for Marriott International’s self-administered US Workers Compensation program
Own the monthly database update process for Marriott International’s self-administered US Workers Compensation program
Respond to all state communications and requests
Coordinate and support audits
Manage the state assessment invoices process and other Accounts Payable as needed
Process paper transactions to record wire transfer payments to Defense Attorney/property (international claims)
Evaluate and triage Mira reports for International Claims
Act as HQ administrative liaison for regional claims offices and Occupational Health Services
Sort, prioritize and route mail for the department including subrogation checks
Assist Employment Practices Liability examiners manage the litigation holds process, research the proper owner and management entity and compile documents for insurance reimbursement
Manage the litigation holds process, including follow-up with recipients to make sure they acknowledge receipt
Respond to inquiries from claimants, vendors, field associates, regional claims and OHS associates
Request settlement check, act as back up for settlement check preparation and address settlement reimbursement
Administer the attorney panel data base for jointly used Law Department/Casualty Claims
Department contact for Marriott Global Source updates
Co-leader for department in Social Committee
Monitor and manage updates for Risk Management Administrative Procedures and Casualty Claims Policy Manual
Oversee and verify compliance of updates to Workers’ Compensation postings across all states and localities
Actively participate in regularly scheduled unit and department meetings
Participate in activities that foster teamwork and continuous quality improvement
Other duties as assigned, e.g. software license renewal, order supplies, update org charts, distribute mail including subrogation checks, etc
Requirements:
At least one year of claims regulatory affairs, claims adjusting experience or claims administrative assistance preferred
Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
1-2 years of business reporting or relevant experience
Competency in Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple projects, and work both independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills
